The Team

JMT is really one big team, and we see all our supporters and members as part of that team.  Many people are involved in lots of different ways from praying, fundraising, helping out and giving, and all are invaluable. There are though a group of individuals who have got particular roles and of course some with legal and moral responsibilities to the other supporters.

Trustees/Directors:
As a charitable limited company, we have three dual-role directors and trustees fulfilling the role of overseeing the governance and direction of the charity, and making the ultimate decisions on all aspects and in particular on where to focus our financial support.  The trustees are elected for a period of three years, but can run concurrent terms. Currently the trustees are:

Nick Marsh (Chairman)
Nick was Jennie’s husband and worked at the project (Vila Maninga) in Mozambique with Jen. A management consultant by day, Nick has been based in South Africa for two years (2005-07) where he was involved with church projects and the homeless work in Johannesburg and has been able to take periods of time off work to visit many of the other African projects. Further to involvement in some of the projects, Nick oversees the communications, fundraising and marketing parts of JMT.

Graham Tipper (Secretary)
Jennie’s father Graham is the central cog in the team, holding things together from the Trust’s office at his home in Chichester (and ably supported by Sue!). Graham is the Board Secretary, as well as overseeing the huge job of the finances, the administration and the correspondence; he is the author of those wonderful thank you letters that so many have received. Formerly with RAF, Graham somehow finds time outside of JMT work to work at the local courts and for the parish council.

Andrew Marsh (Vice-Chairman)
Nick’s brother Andrew has worked at St John’s Church, Downshire Hill in Hampstead, London for over 6 years since graduating from Oxford. In that he has extensive experience in leadership roles within the church, as well as in fundraising and project management, including a £2.5M project to renovate the church buildings. He has had overall lead on a CYFA children’s summer venture camp for the last two years and is now moving onto theological college in London. Andrew oversees the project work of JMT, working with input from others to balance the focus of the work and personally lead several of the project relationships.

Management and support team members:
There are now so many people involved in assisting JMT that it seems unfair to single out some. However, there are a team of individuals who regularly put in time and effort and have taken on specific, on-going roles in helping out. These include (in alphabetical order):

Matt Beeby – Projects: Using his consulting skills, combined with very valued Christian wisdom, Matt assists in considering and assessing individual projects and the on-going strategy of JMT’s support. His wife Amy, has also lent much support to Graham with her accounting expertise.

Asim Janjua – Website design and development: Single-handedly put in hundreds of hours building this great website; not just the state-of-the-art design and functionality, but a customised content management system that sits behind this, enabling the JMT to make easy use and updating of the site. A massive effort and gives us such a great resource.

Phil Koh - Design guru and creative genius: The inspiration behind the logo and all the original design and art work; general imaging that gave us the brochures, newsletters and other material. We wouldn’t be even close to the professional ‘look’ without Phil’s generous work.

Frankie Marsh - Fundraising team: Nick’s mum has driven one of the most successful fundraising and ‘marketing’ efforts for JMT, namely the Christmas Cards, growing our sales each year. Add on various other fundraising efforts and plans for more, and she is an important part of the fundraising success!

Kate Read – Communications: Having been the fundraising guru for a couple of years, Kate has now focused her efforts on the immensely important role of Communications. Overseeing the writing and publication of the JMT Journal, developing internal communications amongst the team, and set to help administrate the website, Kate plays a big role in keeping everyone informed of what we are doing. One of Jennie’s closest friends and married to Julian, who himself uses his professional editing skills to edit the Journal and support Kate in much of her work.

Zannie Salmon – Admin: Putting her professional PA skills to use for JMT, Zannie has helped to get so many of our mailings and distribution out to our supporters, and maintain the contact database.

To all these and the many, many more invaluable individuals! Thank you
