JMT’s Serve programme aims to work with Christians offering practical help, care and assistance to the less privileged and needy people of communities. Our work focuses particularly on children and young people, as particularly vulnerable in Africa, and seeks to work with local people who are really committed to giving these children the best opportunities and care possible.

Orphan care & education – Ibanda, Uganda: Local care programme in southern Uganda providing education opportunities and basic provisions of clothing and scholastic materials for both primary and secondary school orphan children.
Homeless children project – Johannesburg, RSA: Project in Auckland Park area providing food, clothing, basic teaching and skills training, spiritual input and other assistance to young people living on the streets.
Orphan education support – Kitgum, Uganda: Local church-based project caring for orphans and covering educational costs for secondary school children left orphaned by on-going war in northern Uganda.
Orphan care support – Vila Maninga, Mozambique: Orphan care element of Mozambique community project Vila Maninga, where orphaned children are incorporated into the families under foster parents, providing full family life, education and care.
Books and resources for secondary school – Kitgum, Uganda: Project to resource a newly-established Dioceses secondary school in war-torn town of Kitgum in northern Uganda, where many still live in IDP camps and have very limited education opportunities.
