Charity premiere film screening

Following the previously successful film screening fundraiser (Pride & Predjudice a couple of years ago) for JMT, Rich Aseme kindly offered and organised another pre-premiere private screening at his Paramount offices on Friday 13th September. This time, the film was the much awaited Hollywood spoof-blockbuster / comedy "Tropic Thunder" featuring Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jnr.

The fortunate 50 or so friends with tickets (which had been over-subscribed) were first served drinks and snacks in the atrium, thanks to the kind sponsorship of Pure California and Freshminds, and then treated to their private viewing ahead of next week's premiere. The private cinema in Paramount's Soho offices, seats just around 50 people in the luxury of comfortable arm chairs and spacious leg-room (so often missing in cinemas!), making a perfect way to watch films. Entertaining, fast-moving and stacked with stars including comedian Steve Coggan alongside Stiller and Downey Jr the film is about a bunch of hollywood 'actors' trying to make a movie about Vietnam. I'll leave the reviews to the critics and movie-goers, but it was  a fantastic evening and very entertaining movie. The evening also provided the chance for Rich to thank the sponsors, and Nick Marsh to thank Rich for his hard work and everyone for attending and donating to JMT's project work.

A huge thank you to Rich for his continued generous support and fundraising, and for everyone for being there - JMT was able to raise around £700 from the event from generous donations and the Freshminds sponsorship, which goes a long way towards our projects.
